Starbucks Shipping Container Store Opens in Taiwan 2018 | NEWEST Spot for Instagram Photos
Hualien City, Taiwan | Starbucks is doing its part in moving towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future by converting 29 used shipping containers into its FIRST container store in Taiwan.
The 2-story tall store is the first retailer to open in the upcoming Hualien Bay Mall and contains 320 square meters (3,444 sq. ft) of space. The store exterior is designed by the famous Japanese architect, Kengo Kuma, who also designed the Starbucks store in Fukuoka, Japan and the upcoming Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Tokyo’s Nakameguro District.
The store features a drive-thru and provides natural sunlight through the various skylights found throughout the container structure.
On the inside, a mural pays tribute to the Aboriginal Amis people in Hualien City.

Oh what?! Totally missed this while in Hualien. Will have to check it out next time. I’m actually surprised that Starbucks decided to do something so artsy like this.
